The annual MiniEx exhibition and local stamp club gathering is no longer being held. For a variety of reasons, the event has been placed in abeyance and is not expected to resume.

EXHIBITING AT MINIEX

The MINIEX Exhibits Competition is designed to encourage collectors who wish to develop and showcase their collections. MINIEX particularly welcomes new exhibitors and supports displays composed of philatelic material that is readily accessible to all collectors.

Guidelines for MINIEX Exhibitors

for reference purposes only

  1. Eligibility of Exhibits
    Exhibits submitted to MINIEX must be shown for the first time outside the exhibitor’s home club.

  2. Exhibit Format
    Exhibits may consist of one (1) frame, containing up to 16 pages.

  3. Exhibit Categories
    Exhibits will be accepted in the following categories:
    a. BNA, including Canada
    b. World
    c. Postal History
    d. Topical, covering any subject or presentation format
    e. Small Exhibit, consisting of one or two pages
    f. Other, such as Display, Post Cards, and similar formats

  4. Judging and Scoring
    Each exhibit will be evaluated by a panel of judges and assigned a grade according to the following scale:

    • Platinum: 95–100 points
    • Gold: 85–94 points
    • Silver: 70–84 points
    • Bronze: 1–69 points

    Judges’ assessments will be based on the following criteria and weightings:
    a. Achievement of Purpose — 40%
    Clarity of objectives and effectiveness in meeting them (e.g., telling a story, presenting a thesis, or analyzing an issue).
    b. Overall Presentation — 30%
    c. Condition and Quality of Material — 10%
    d. Scope of Philatelic Material — 10%
    e. Personal Research and Philatelic Knowledge — 10%

  5. Awards
    In each category, the exhibit with the highest point total will receive a category prize. Additional awards include:

    • Grand Prize for the exhibit with the highest overall score
    • New Exhibitor Award
    • People’s Choice Award, determined by attendee ballot

  6. Feedback from Judges
    Time permitting, judges will be available to discuss the strengths of an exhibit with its exhibitor. This feedback is especially valuable for those wishing to advance to higher‑level exhibiting, but is open to all participants.

Prix

Dans chaque catégorie, l’exposition obtenant le plus grand nombre de points recevra un prix de catégorie. Des prix supplémentaires incluent :

  • Grand Prix pour l’exposition ayant obtenu le score le plus élevé tous genres confondus
  • Prix du nouvel exposant
  • Prix du public, déterminé par vote des visiteurs

Rétroaction des juges

Si le temps le permet, les juges seront disponibles pour discuter des points forts d’une exposition avec son exposant. Cette rétroaction est particulièrement utile pour ceux qui souhaitent progresser vers des niveaux d’exposition supérieurs, mais elle est ouverte à tous les participants.
